Title: Excess electrical capacity
Post by: DaveinNC on December 18, 2018, 04:39:44 PM
Does anybody have the specs on the charging system? What is the total amp /watt output, what is the excess electrical capacity that can be used for accessories such as heated grips, seats, lights or heated gear liners?

Thanks

"Charging Output: 570 watts @ 5,000 rpm", look at this link: https://ridermagazine.com/2016/06/02/2016-honda-vfr1200x-road-test-review/

Thank you, that's what I was looking for, I can figure out the rest from that. Thanks again.

Wondering, Dave, if you figured the excess capacity and how you did that. I have been just guessing the bike would draw something like 220 to 250 to run, so figure there's another 250 to 300 to use without net drain on the battery.

I had to figure for potential and temporary draw also, such as fans, high beam, turns signals and brake. I figured we have about 200 watts of "safe" Excess electrical capacity when the system is maxed out in stock form. That's way more than I will ever need.
