Title: miles/litres?
Post by: Beamish on February 18, 2015, 08:37:18 PM
Is there a way of changing the display to mpg?  I can work it out but would prefer to see it in old school gallons. I can cx miles to kliometres but not litres to gallons. Any advice pls. Thanks.

Shame, looks like I will gave to get down with the Europeans and start visualising what a miles per litre looks like.

Simple maths there are- about 9 litres  in 2 gallons
So 1 gallon = 4.5 litres
If you set your readout to miles/litre
A reading of 10 gives 45mpg or so
most normal main road cruising will give you 9 to 11
open the throttle will get down to 5 or 6
down hill with the wind behind you - might give you 12or 13
Now this might sound good but remember the bike overreads by up to 10%
You might get 200 miles from a tank - but watch the low fuel warning like a hawk

Thanks mate I am happy to calculate but it just like having Kmh on the speedo only, takes a bit if getting used to.

Hi Suggest if you want to work out MPG use Fuelly It's good for recording your MPG.  http://www.fuelly.com/ (http://www.fuelly.com/)
It's nearly true but as the speedo over reads by about 9% high your mileage will be 9% higher.

So that I could work out what the equivalent was from Ltrs to MPG I did an excel spreadsheet, memorising what was good and best.. got feed up and just drove, your Fuelly less work than watching the speedo.

Hav fun.
