Title: August 16th - Lincolnshire ride-out
Post by: Dave56 on July 14, 2014, 12:04:56 PM
Anyone fancy coming along for a ride-out into beautiful Lincolnshire.
The date is Saturday August 16th.
Meet up at Gonerby Moor Services on the A1 at 9.30am for a 10.00am start.
From there we'll head over to Willingham Woods near Market Rasen for a brew and then take the Caistor High St towards Horncastle ending up at East Kirkby for lunch at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage centre and a wander around the museum (see link below).
From there we will head back towards Grantham and to Gonerby Moor Services.
Looking forward to meeting up with those CT owners that come along and hopefully, fingers crossed we'll have an enjoyable day in fine weather.   :152:

I had a ride over to the Woods yesterday, and for once the DCT's outnumbered the tractors. Admittedly two were VFR 1200F's plus my CT. As I said before Dave, I will know the night before, as it looks like silly season is beginning tomorrow

East Kirkby's not far from Boston, so it could be an option.  :152:

Your more than welcome to meet up with us on-route.
We will be leaving Gonerby Moor Services and travelling towards Lincoln on the A607 via Welbourne, Wellingore and Navemby before turning towards Bardney so we won't be coming via Sleaford.
We could perhaps meet you at the truck stop cafe on the A15 on the left as you head towards Lincoln, I think it's called The Kitchen Cafe, if we say about 10.30pm.

Anyone else fancy joining us on our Lincolnshire bimble.
If you thought Lincolnshire was all flat and fenland then allow us to dispel this theory.
Hopefully the weather will be kind, either way it promises to be a good day.

Bit of a bugger when the organiser can't even find the participants at the meeting point - thanks for the rescue Paul.  :138:

Thanks guys for turning up, really enjoyed meeting you all and enjoyed your company.
Great ride-out despite the heavy traffic in places, just a shame the two Coningsby Lancs were tucked away in the hanger.

Nice to meet you all today
Dave . Paul. Ant and Barry. For my brief ride out
Had a real mare of journey home, down to heavy traffic, surface dressing and bloody tractors

I also ended the day with a breakdown on the big Oh Deere .
Have a great holiday Ant. Not jealous at all
 :010:

Did you break anything Barry, apart from your pride ?

Good to read that Barry  :047:  As Paul said, its bound to take a few miles, and a bit of time to regain confidence. I hope the wife was sympathetic with you when you next saw her, and I hope that thumb is healing nicely .

Take it easy.  Rob.

Great to hear your back on two wheels Barry, just take your time mate and the confidence will certainly come back.
As to the wife's ear bashing Barry, well that's just her way of showing that she cares.
All the best mate.
