Title: Took the CT on the beach today (pics)
Post by: AussieKiwi on May 22, 2012, 02:07:17 PM
Had a blast today powersliding the beast on the beach at high speeds  :001:

Downside - the mud / sand gets in everywhere - especially the radiator and rear shock.

Also noticed a fair amount of crap hitting me in the face  :033:, more so that I would have thought on the Varadero.

Here are some pics that tell the tale.

Needs an underbelly guard.

Need a rear hugger for sure.

Unlucky for me the beach seems to have had this green algae sh#t all over it (that I couldn't see) but my bike was covered in baked on green slime - and it stinks. Even after a pressure wash I can still smell this green algae  :013:

Forgot to mention how it rode..

1, It's heavy in the lose sand, but feels good in a low centre of gravity way.

2. The Pirellis are not great but then I didn't expect them to be with that tread pattern.

Note on lose sand: When you stall the bike in loose sand, don't forget when you re-start it to turn of the traction control again otherwise you don't move! (that caught me out twice)

:062:  .. you did quite a bit on sand and mud there ..should be good fun  :305:

Now it seems that really too much from the front wheel dirt gets up to the radiator ... looks like it needs a front mud guard extension too.
