Yes there are a few different options for mounting - I suppose I should have given you the crossbar type since you're currently using the handlebars,

Thanks for the quick reply.  That bottom photo is the best I have seen showing the thickness of the metal, it does indeed look very robust and solid. 
I decided to buy the one with the cross bar option instead of the mount plate as shown.

I have a 2013 bike so mounting will be different to yours, however. On mine it uses the upper two screen bolts in the front, on yours it appears to bolt in from each side (shown in pics below).

To anyone who has used one of these GPS mounts: how well has it worked for you and are the vibrations acceptable while riding?

I currently have my GPS mounted on the handlebar and it is rock solid but I would like to move it into more line of sight above the dash.

I'm near Uttoxeter, so not a million miles away. I often go up to Derbyshire for a rideout. However, wimp that I am, I am a fair weather rider only, and bikes are currently hibernating till April.
