The spring scale I used for my 1200f was a fishermans type, with the correct range, around twelve bucks from memory. I calibrated it before use with some very old weights from a vintage balance scale as well.

Even the steering head bearing preload settings are different in my manual (but the same as Trumpet's).

At least the settings for the upper steering stem nut are the same (103Nm/76 lbf-ft).

Looks like later models than the 1200X-XD have a very different setup on the steering stem.

Of course the Crosstourer didn't make it to the US until 2016/17, and we got it in 2012.

Finally got my socket from the UK. Took 3 weeks I think.  I forgot my torque wrench so will have to do next week BUT I rebalanced my new tires with dynabeads as the dealer did not balance correctly ( not happy about that) and 65% of my shimmy issue is gone.  Actually really enjoyed the test ride today!!

Got my steering all adjusted. Super easy. I did not take the forks apart. Just suspended the bars and took the top clamp off. The bike Tracts better now and isn’t as loose at low speed

The socket is from amazon. Laser brand. 40.00 usd. Very nice, deep enough and works like a champ
