Got some shinkos getting mounted this weekend.. what’s the break in period like? 100 miles? Should be good tires I’d think?

I had a set of 705s on my BMW R1150R. Any tire break in is 100 miles, that's what I have been told anyway. My only complaint with them was the small vibration from the tread I got at 8-10 mph. It did get better over time. Other than that, a great tire. I'm waiting for my avons to wear down for me to install the 705s again.

I had a pair on an r1150gs and I don’t remember having any issues but that was a long time ago and I maybe put 1000 miles on them

So I got the 705 radials mounted… first couple miles I thought my molars were going to fall out! They have a high spot somewhere or something. Got better about halfway home. They don’t look out of round but they feel like it.  I’m assuming it’s going to be a long break In.  Super quick handling though!  Love the tires

My wife's F900XR had Michelin Anakee's installed and it was a rough ride for awhile at 35mph. Turns out the tire was mounted higher on the rim in 1 spot causing that vibration. You couldn't tell on the center stand, looking at the middle of the tire. You could only see the bead riding higher on the rim in that one spot. Dismount and put it back on and it has been super smooth ever since. If your tire is still feeling weird, have a closer look at where the side wall meets the rim. I didn't have a problem with my 705s, only that the side wall was super thick and was a pain for my installer to put on by hand.

I thought about that. I’ve seen that on car tires at work.  It got much better the more miles I’ve gone.  This bike has too loose a steering stem.  I’m going to tighten it up next week. That’s got to be the issue
