    Fork service intervals

So I was at MCT yesterday. If you haven’t heard of them they are one of the best suspension companies around. I was taking over the shocks from another bike for service. He’d already serviced the Crosstourer forks and shock earlier in the year so he asked how it was.
Then he said that I should make sure to get the shocks serviced at 16,000 mile intervals or sooner. Apparently the bushes ON THIS PARTICULAR BIKE, ie not Hondas in general suffer from wear on the fork bushes which damages the forks. The cost of replacement forks is huge so its something to be avoided.
    Just throwing that out there

As far as I'm aware, front forks or rear shock don't appear in the maintenance schedule further than regular inspection. I've also read that fork oil doesn't degrade to any significant degree during the life of a bike. It sounds like a company drumming up a bit of trade to me.

It’s the bushes that are deteriorating.
I’d say that Darren really doesn’t have to drum up trade!

Therefore you check for bush wear and take appropriate action. If they wear prematurely on Crosstourers, I suppose it's just a case of checking more regularly. I would guess it's more dependent on the type of use the bikes getting.
