Anyone had a 1050 V Strom before they switched to a VFR1200X. How did they compare?

I owned a 2013 DL650 Adventure model. V Stroms are great reliable bikes but the build quality, fit and finish are not up to par with the Honda. I've ridden several 1000s and one 1050. They are lighter, less powerful but good bikes. The VFRX is a much better touring platform. Ride both, and make your choice.

I was thinking about replacing CT with VS.
Had a couple of test rides. Never proceed.
CT is way more comfortable, also engines are totally different - V4 is way more superior. Wind protection at CT is better.

Had a VStrom before a CT.

They are two very different bikes.

I concur with the CT protection being far superior, and it has some more power.

VStrom is lighter, therefore the power difference is minimal, but the CT is smoother engine wise. MPG is slightly better on the VStrom, but it doesn’t have the shaft drive.

Both have decent suspension and they will both tour 2 up no problem.

Honda build quality is better, though service costs on the VStrom will be less due to the engine configuration.

Try both and see what you think.
