The Pontefract cake is neither a cake or limited only to Pontefract, its a small circular rubbery sweet mainly consisting of liquorice, old used engine oil, tar, Dunlop SP4 tyre crumbs and a hint of sugar.

I need a lie down, had to buy hairspray  to stop grip puppies from spinning round, that stuff is more expensive than Vodka!
