NC700S - my son's choice
« on: April 07, 2012, 12:39:07 PM »
Last Friday, my son passed his 'full' bike test.  :046:  He has sold his CB125F and is looking for a successor.

After many trips to the dealers, scanning the Internet and reading reports in mags, he has finally decided which bike he wants - and the winner is:

The Honda NC700S in white - he's sat on the demo bike above.

Like most Hondas at the moment, he has to wait until week 18 (beginning of May) for his bike. He is not too happy about that, but what can you do.

A few weeks ago he bought a new Shoei Qwest helmet and was not happy when it wouldn't fit into the NC700X's stowage box. So you can imagine his surprise when he tried to put the same helmet into the NC700S's stowage box - and it fitted!

The NC700X has a slightly smaller stowage box than the NC700S - who would've guessed?

I'm sure he will be happy with the bike when he gets it on the road. Ride safe mate!

My son is getting excited now, his bike is due to arrive next week. He's changed to a black NC700S, and he's got 'HS NC 700' as his registration number.

My wife says he's almost as annoying as I was when I was waiting for my Crosstourer. I don't know what she means.  :027:

My son wants to see the world on a bike - and I'm going to try and keep fit so I can go with him. We're starting with Europe and then we'll see. He's only 19, so things can change quickly.

My wife has a CB600N which she got new last year, but it has only done 160km in 12 months - she never has time. But fuel consumption is great - less than one tank a year!

I'm hoping we will get it up to 200km soon  :745:

Wow, one tank a year! That's great. How true! My brother owns a Ferrari car ... he reckons it's his cheapest car in fuel consumption  :305: of course it is, he takes it out only very occasionally on some warm summer nights  :018:
