    Any of you guys using a LED headlamp bulb?

    Which one?
    AND
    How do you rate it?

    I have one fitted in the dipped and one in the main.

    The main beam is really good but the dipped is poor.

    I use the same bulbs in my Blackbird and in that it totally transformed the dipped
    beam!

    Is it possible that the bulb you are using will turn in it's base........I have read that some of the bulbs can turn a 90 degree because some reflectors are designed differently and the bulb performs completely diffently if fitted horizontal or vertical.

    (hope that makes sense)

    I have fitted the Osram LED H7 lamps. It is a struggle to fit the plastic cap on the back of the headlight assembly as the rear of the bulb is longer with additional wiring but I did manage it. I was worried about heat build up, but after a few months of use there does'nt seem to be any issues. good improvement in light strength both forward and to the sides on the dip and a very good improvement in the head light strength.  seems these are the only lamps that are approved for replacement of H7 halogen lamps ( if that matters to you) on the market at the time I replaced them.
    The full part number is - OSRAM LEDriving HL.  PX26d 12v/24v  14w  67210CW  LED high and low beam lamp. I paid about €90 for the pair of lamps.
    There are other Osram LED H7 lamps in their range, they might have better output but they may not be approved for use by TUV etc.  but the above are the ones I fitted if that helps.
    Some cheaper brands have no control on the light output, what brand did you fit?

    Not sure of the actual brand as they are being sold on the web site of a third party.
    These are they;
    https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/products/led-headlight-conversion-bulbs-h7-integrated-colour-options-main-dipped-glb477?_pos=3&_sid=b4607474f&_ss=r

    I thought I had put the same in the Blackbird but in actual fact these, from the same site, are what I used;
    https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/products/led-headlight-conversion-bulbs-h7-4600-lumen-philips-z-es-main-dipped-glb477?_pos=4&_sid=b4607474f&_ss=r

    These actually have a lower lumen output but seem to give a better output.

    ps. thanks for the above, I'll have a look at those.

    I've just thought of something, in which orientation have you fitted the LED's?
    Pointing horzontal or vertically?

    Hi DE65Y,
    The Osram lamps come with a bezel that you fit into the headlight with the tab located at the top and secure it in place with the spring clip, (It is as if you had a H7 €4 halogen bulb and you removed the glass part away from the metal base part) . Through this bezel you fit the LED part and turn it 90 degrees to lock it in place. The LED's finish up being horizontal ( one looking to the left, one to the right). There is no other way to fit it. I assume this is how they got approval from TUV etc. The output of these lamps is 1215 lumens with +/- 15% tolerance each ( 2430 lumens for the pair) This output of 1215 is very similar to a halogen lamp!. They have a 5000 hour life and a 5 year guarantee. Use about 19 watts.
    I looked at the spec of your lamps,  They have a 2300 lumen output each, life span of 50000 hours and use about 18watts, pretty fine figures! I understand what you mean that you can adjust them to suit left hand drive or right hand drive headlights so you have to be careful to get them set to suit the reflector of the CT. You can't do that with the Osram unit.
    Hope this helps
    Tom

    Thinking about it, the bulbs I have can rotate in the holder 360º and I've only had it in two positions.
    Not sure how it differs for L or R hand drive as both sides look the same but maybe I should turn it again.
