    ST2 Turn Signal Cancellation

    Hi,

I am trying to install the ST2 turn cancellation unit but am struggling to locate the wires coming from the left handlebar switch after they loop back into the frame.

    Orange Left/Blue Right/Grey Relay

I thought they came down the the large plug near the relay left side front of the bike but I cant trace them at all.

The diagram only show the colours which are correct and the parts locator shows the relay again I have found that just no the loom to break into?

Once the orange, light blue and grey wires leave the switch gear, via a 6-pin connector and a 10-pin connector, they all change colour.

Orange becomes grey with a yellow band.

Light blue becomes grey with a blue band.

Grey becomes white with a green band.

All three go to the 33-pin sub-harness connector under the LH fairing (A).

They exit the connector using those same colours, and end up at the 18-pin connector for the turn signal relay (B).

:002: Thanks, I will try and trace those wires out, I was on the right plug but just couldn't get a continuity checks from A to the switch gear so this colour list is a great help!

Will let you know how it goes.

    2012 1200X DCT Model.

After many thousands of miles on it rather than get a new bike I thought I would upgrade so it now has Front spot lamps, sat nav, MCCruise, ST2 Brake Module and hopefully ST2 Signal Cancelling.

So I have finally finished this job and the device works well. My advice to anyone fitting one of these is to have an accurate wiring diagram, (thank fully I got one on the forum and am very grateful for the support!). Secondly if you break into the cables anywhere after the first plug i.e. the colours have changed from the turn switch on the bars it wont work. Lastly I had to shorten the cable it came with and solder on new wires, not sure why this was as when I checked the off cuts they all had continuity but just wouldn't work on the bike. New cables and soldered into the loom coming from the left hand switchgear and mounted to the frame next to the main plug near the turn relay!

All a bit traumatic but got there in the end and hopefully it will be worth it and safer, when I forget to cancel which even the best of us do from time to time!

Couldn't have done this without you, many thanks my friend!

Glad you got it sorted. Strange about shortening the wiring, maybe it was a resistance problem if continuity was ok. All water under the bridge now!
