Well maybe the deer hit me ?

Lucky…….. but it might also pay to out weigh the deer.

Deer popped out from the left at running at full speed.  He hit the left fork leg and rolled along the left side of the bike.
SW bars kept him off my leg. Pushed the bike to the right…….a little “oh sh#t” moment  as I was thinking did not want to ride over the deer and Lose control.

Deer rolled into the right side ditch and never moved.

No damage other than the hair.

Fortunate it was not a 180-200# full grown buck.

Hit a small deer (not small up close!) a few years back. Twisted forks and compressed the front tyre that much I was picking hair out between the tyre and rim for days and when it came to change, the fitter wondered why there was hair inside.

Loch Lomond, Scotland. 7pm. About 40mph with an artic. truck behind me. Recall it like it was yesterday. Hear its hoofs scrapping, see its eyes.

Even now years later coming onto roads with trees either side and I'm knocking it back. Especially early evening.

    ABS is the thing!

Glad you got away with it too mate.

Good job keeping it together. What crash bars are you running? They look like they will allow me to keep my Hepco Becker belly pan as well as my SW Motech light mounts. I've been looking for a set like that forever.

They are SW Motech ones. Id have them as well. 27mm diameter, way stronger than Givi or Honda. Also, you can access side covers without taking bars off.
