Hello folks,
Whilst carrying out a general check I found that none of my brake lights are working. Does anyone have any suggestions please ?
Many thanks in advance.

Have you checked the 15A fuse for Stop/Tail/Meter?

Hello Hound,
Thanks for the the suggestion.
Yes I have (OK), and I've checked for continuity at the front brake light switch (OK). I'm guessing that it must be the rear light itself, but instructions for removal are poor, remove the two screw (no problem) and release the tab ??? Well, the tab is somewhere behind the rear centre cowl, but there's no indication of what kind of tab or how to release it.
What a pain in the a*#@

I suspected you'd checked the fuse but always best to be sure!
I've never removed the rear cowl so can't advise, but here's a couple of pics of the underside in case it gives you a
clue what to do with the tab. Maybe you'll just have to use brute force.
Have you tried wiggling the cabling that leads to the rear indicators and taillight in case you have a break?
If your lamp
does
turn out to have died, there's one on eBay for £25 plus £8 P+P, if you're quick.

Hello Hound,
Thanks for that, I looked for the cowl on ebay and ended up finding a picture much the same as the one you attached, so I did eventually manage to remove the light fitting. Wires are intact, must be the strip of LEDs for the brake light that have blown. Thanks for the link to the one on ebay, if I can collect tomorrow I'll be in with a chance of getting it fitted before I'm due to go away on the bike.

Sorry to hear that. Can you test the LEDs while off the bike?
There's a rear light in Leicester, which is slightly closer to you, but it's £43. That includes P+P though.

Good luck!
