    battery terminal screws

    Hi all.
When I was putting on the optimate battery lead .
My hands are like pigs feet lol.
The 2screws fell out of my hands and fell into the battery tray .
I can’t seem to find them.
Is there any danger to the engine /bike etc or do I need to take the battery out and search for them.

    Thanks again.

Aaargh...these things are sent to try us! If that happened to me I'd have to take the battery out and try to find them....nd don't you need them anyway to attach the battery cables?

Hi I refitted battery optimate with new screws but the old ones are still down there.
So purchased flexible pick up tool to try and get them out.

Many years ago I had a similar thing happen, with my BMW K1, the night before I was due to catch a ferry to France for a 10 day tour. It took me over an hour before I found the screw. It had fallen into the back of the alternator. If I had started the bike it would have smashed into the windings and ruined any hope of going on the trip.

It looks like the only thing below the battery tray on the Crosstourer is the rear shock, frame and swingarm.

Swingarms are normally quite close to the back of the gearbox, you wouldn't want it to get between there.

So is that fact the gear box is there as that is a worry.

I have taken battery out and still can’t find them so they have fell to the flat tray below the battery.

I noticed a small hole in the flat tray below the  battery which the screws could fall out hopefully.

Happy days the screw has popped out from under the battery tray.
Noticed it when looking around under the bike again
