    Hi
I've not been on this forum for a couple of years, but following some research, it seems the 1200 is about the best value bike for sale at the moment.
I owned one 2 years ago and loved the bike and don't really know why I sold it  :789: . I've had an XT1200Z,  a XL1000 Varadero since selling and I know have an XT660z Tenere.
I'm planing  a ride to the Noth Cape (top of Norway). Now that's around a 4500 miles (7242km) round trip. It crossed my mind to take th little Tenere, but it's a bit vibey over 60 mph.
Oh, yeah, mine was the DCT model so another one of those I think. Maybe I'll  buy in the spring, you never know, Covid may be a distant memory,  but I doubt it.
Just thought I'd mention my plans  :129:

its an interesting argument. We know the price of van, cars and lorries have zoomed up as much as 50% due to the scarcity of new. A mate's had his wait for a new Transporter put back by 6 months so far.
But are bikes such a critical buy -or is it more a spur of the moment thing? most owners here seem to have several bikes and some seem to alternate between 1200 bmws and CT's.
Add in the fact that our bikes is obsolete -will the scarcity increase prices -or make the bike more desireable to a limited market of buyers? or will the lesser weight/power but the addition of cruise control and a laptop display persuade the rider to spend his hard earned on a new NT1100 with full makers warranty? Mine is staying put until the right chap come along who will appreciate the superior suspension!

Perhaps someone planning a Norwegian trip would be an ideal candidate to purchase the Hippo!

I am sure there are many good rides there but years ago a mate and I went right around the Baltic- Hull to Denmark,to Norway,Sweden,Finland,Estonia,Latvia,Lithuania,Poland,Germany,Belgium,France and home.I was on a 750 cc Africa Twin,he was on a Blackbird. It was a great ride apart from the weather which made the number of lakes in Finland increase by a few thousand. That was August and after countless miles through pine forest in Sweden I began to realise why they have a wish to escape-despite gorgeous blondes! So sorry but one trip north of the Baltic was enough for me but Poland, and Latvia -yes please!

That's why i'm selling my XT660Z, i already bought a T7 instead and that one is so nice i will be selling my CT in the spring.
Also going to the North Cape this year, booked the ferry from Eemshaven to Kristiansand for the 9th of July.
I'll be riding the TET Finland on the way back and then St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Riga, Kallingrad, Gdansk and Berlin mixed on- and offroad.
Discovered i like offroad a few years ago and want to do more. Also do offroad with the CT but it's just to heavy for the fun stuff.
