Oops - need a new left handgaurd

Schoolboy error today while manoeuvering backwards and sitting on bike. Still in gear and right hands accidentally pulled on throttle. Result - Flat on my back with bike on top of me and a few choice words. What a dick. Scracthed the engine bars and pannier (which is rarely fitted). No other apparent damage apart from a broken the left handgaurd and a bruiesd leg.

Short term I might be able to glue the handgaurd but it looks bad so I now need a new handgaurd on the left. My CT is a 1200 XD-F (thats what it says on the V5) 1st registered Jan 2017 so guessing a 2016 model. I have done a search and found a few sites offering the part but how can I be sure I am getting the right part? Anyone got a go to site/shop for CT parts?

Thanks in advance for your helpful suggestions. Be free to call me any names for being such a cluts and yes next time I will put it in neutral before I walk it back or better still not be so lazy and get off.

    Steve

Ai... What a bad luck. It could have been worse I guess.

There are some websites that list the exact Honda part numbers. ( Maybe this can help : https://www.bike-parts-honda.com/ )

In this case: Would this be the moment to buy some proper handguards in stead of the (only) plastic Honda ones?

I'd like to get some better hand guards at some point. Those original Honda ones are duff.
    Any recommendations?
    Bad luck Herfordsteve.
PS..I'm only in Cheltenham. Maybe catch you for a ride one day?

Thanks Red Boll. Good idea about replacing both.

I did find the I did find the original part. Was going to £55 inc of shipping and tax. Then found these https://www.powerbronze.co.uk/honda-vfr1200x-crosstourer-16-20-380-h106.html . £80 for a pair in matt black. So ordered the powerbronze.

ExSuper - Will update you when I get them. Quite often head towards the Cotswolds so a good possibility. Do you do the
