Hi Everyone. This looks like a really useful forum so I though I'd join. I'm from Plymouth, UK and have a 2015 Crosstourer Highlander DCT. Have toured all over the UK on it, plus as far as Barcelona and Andorra. Planning a little ride to Morocco in March, COVID permitting.

    Welcome!
I only just bought mine. 2013 model.
I'm very envious of you going to Morocco. Mine is my daily ride/work horse.
Enjoy the trip. I hope Covid doesn't stop you from going

Welcome S2PRF! A trip to Morocco sounds exciting, I wish I wasn't too creaky to do stuff like that!

The corrosive salty air in Cornwall and Devon coastal areas did a real number on my ungaraged ST1300 while my brother was using it. Does your CT nestle snugly in a garage or do you have to bathe it in ACF50?  :001:

Thanks both. Yes, corrosion is problem down here. We're only 50 yards from the quayside and get salt spray when it's windy, so the bike is both garaged and saturated in a thin film of oil. So far it's not got any corrosion despite me using it year-round. The planned trip in March is with my mate who runs a NC750X-DCT.... Home to Plymouth ferryport, ferry to Santander, Picos de Europa, Leon, Seville, Algeciras, ferry to Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Tichka pass over the Atlas mountains to Ouarzazate, Boumaine Dades, Dades Gorge, Agoudal, then cross-country to Gara Medouar (the crater in the Bond film Spectre), Merzouga, then 200km cross-country along the Paris-Dakar Rally route to Tagounite, Zagora, Errachidia, Fes, Ceuta, ferry to Algeciras, then a few days rest in Gibraltar before heading north to Salamanca and then the ferry from Santander back to Plymouth. Will be sure to start a thread on here about it when we go.
