    Hi,
The CT was due her 2nd valve clearance check as I’d hit the mileage, it was an independent who was recommended to me. Dropped the bike off Saturday 30th Oct, the fella had it for a week as he works for a dealer. Sent me a video of bike all stripped down, 6 exhaust valves needed adjusted as slightly loose. Changed plugs, which I supplied, got him to flush and change brake fluid as I was getting the lock up. Picked it up the following Saturday all in £220. Service book stamped with his details.
That’s a result in my book.

Strange as the clearances usually reduce with mileage or has the VFR got a different setup?

I would never tighten the valve clearance ( shim adjust) on used bike……not even a little.
