I picked up, from one of the YouTube reviews/tests, that the DCT may be an older version as used on the AT 1000cc.  As such, it apparently doesn't account for up/down slope.

I've believed for some time that my 2017 CT does do this, but now I'm wondering if that's true, if there's no IMU? (the later ATs have an IMU).

Also, I wonder if the DCT on the NT has S1, S2, S3, or just D, because a couple of YT testers mentioned that the NT was changing up too early for them, and I just assumed that they didn't know about the DCT 'sport' modes, but now I'm wondering if it doesn't actually have those modes if it has an older version of DCT.

As an ex Dullville and current CT DCT owner I was very interested in the AT and NT but haven't found either to suit my needs of commuting and the very occasional trip down through France and Spain. As a Luddite I chose the CT over the liquid cooled BMW GS due to the uncomplicated dash but I had an AT as an insurance hire bike and hated pretty much every moment due to never being able to find the correct engine setting from the 16 or so options available. My HIGHLANDER has 2 and I use Sport 90% of the time as Drive is only good for dual carriageways......so the lack of shaft is only one of the things putting me of this XADV lovechild🏍️💨😸 (discuss)
