So  not being sure which was the live wire to the spots i next went on to removing the heated grips which didnt work  and the grips were wore down( probably on bike when new 7 years ago).Thought i'd have no prob getting a live wire from the grips but no joy..i'll think i'll just bring it to a auto electrican and stop all the headaches 😐😐😐

Accsesory fuse from fuse box comes out as a Black/Yellow but that is probrbly a switched live via the key switch.
If you want a permanent live, the feed to the key switch is a solid red.

    Negative is green.

the forum keeps getting asked about this live feed ,but only when the ignition is on.I appreciate that there are several options but in your opinion which wire would you use? My bike has heated grips but no spots -its a late model- but i have never found the "aux harness" -maybe they changed it on later models.
I am attaching my photo of whats under the front left side panel- can you see which I should use?
On a u tube vid a suggestion was made to stick a pin in the chosen wire and then you can connect that  a meter to see if suitable to tee into- if it isn't a pin hole, it's suggested ,wont be a problem!

It all depends on how you want to use your usb socket.
Mine has a built in voltmeter so straight away I don't want that on all the time, as, although small, the current flow could drain the battery.
I seem to have the accessory harness, on it I have both the grips and the fogs.
So as these both used a switched live I think I tagged on to one of these.

This is your pic with an arrow showing where the connector for the accessory socket would be.
If I'm right that plug should have in it the switched Bl/Y and the permanent solid R lives.
