Hi everyone. first time on any form of forum, please bear with me. My name is Stitch, I have a 2015 xt purchased brand new. Wife and i love it, never let me down. During the last coupe of weeks i decided to give Sid thats the name of my xt :001:as its a black obsidian metalic, hey ho, i hope im not the only one to name their bike. ,,  a complete service top to bottom front to back, and bought some new goodies, all went well till i got to the front brakes, stripping down the right hand caliper i found that the abs sensor stuck fast in the mount, so much so, no matter how much i tried to get it it wouldnt budge, so it got damaged  :006:. £270.00 for a new one :156: anyone any ideas please. If i have to pay that well over the top i will, but there must be another solution. Regards Stitch.

    Welcome Stitch.
Don't know about the sensor, what's broken? Changed the pads a few times just as the tyres where the calipers had to come off but never any problems with it as it is just 2 M6 bolts.
Here in the Netherlands we have several bike junk yards where you can buy used parts.
And no, your not the only one who named the bike(s).
I have a 2012 Crosstourer named Ragnarok (Twilight of the gods) and a 2009 Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré named Ecstasy (XTZ).

Hi Ray, thanks for your reply. Whats broken is the sensor sitting in the caliper hanger, the bolts came out OK but the sensor was stuck solid, it had corroded solid, so i cant remove the carrier without unclipping the sensor plug behind the radiator. I suppose its going to be a very expensive bit. I have checked on ebay etc, i can get one that fits from a few different Honda's but the plugs are different costing 40 to 60 gbp, my question is if i get one of these and cut the wires as to fit my plug will it upset the abs system, secondly are all of these sensors the same ie will my system recognize it. Anyway, lets hope i can get something sorted, must be a answer out there, regards Stitch
