    HID lamp discolouration?

    Hi,
    I know it has been discussed before, but does a HID kit dull the reflector after a period of use? I have fitted one and the light output is a big step up from a 55w halogen, but I went back to the halogen for fear of damage to the plastic reflector.
    I was excited to see the launch of the Osram night breaker LED h7 lamp and see its rated at 220% of a 55w halogen but at €140 a pair (€70 a bulb) plus postage, I'll suffer the halogen for a while longer!

    I would imagine it depends how close to the lens the lamp is.
    I had one in my BIRD, only removing to fit LED's and the lens was in perfect condition.

    Made the same mistake, HID bulbs are obsolete now. LED bulbs are not that expensive, the only issue I had personally with them, that I had to remove headlamp to fit them properly.
