CT DCT Not Starting - ideas?

Morning folks,

After a long run on Saturday I cleaned the bike thoroughly (still loads of salt down on the roads.) Too thoroughly (home power washer) as now it wont start!

Ignition on, all the usual lights, neutral, kill switch to ON, fuel pump good, press START and headlight dims as normal but starter motor does not go.

Checked fuses which were dry, blew out r/h switchgear bit of WD40 there and sidestand cut-out switch. Tried stand up and down. Ignition on, kill switch off and on. Ignition off, kill switch off then both on. Nothing. Left out in the sun for a few hours. Nothing.

Never happened in 8 years (Original battery, all the lights are bright and functioning, kept on a charger when not in use)

Any ideas for further checks or ideas?

\i had this on an NC750 DCT -in Austria . I disconnected and re-connected battery eventually giving up and breakdown took it to a Honda dealer-who couldnt find anything wrong .But simply shorted across the solenoid and it started instantly- and never did it again!

What and where is this solenoid you speak off? 

Electricity is pure magic to me.

If your battery is 8 years old just try the different one even if you think it is okay because you charge it during the winter.
If that won't help then start to think about other things like ground connection and starter.

   Wojcimierz I suggested he short across the solenoid -as I had this on another DCT . Cab you tell us where its located?

In DCT starter relay switch (this is probably what you mean) is next to the battery on the rear wheel side and the starter relay is located behind the rear lamp, rear center cowl. You have two relays there.

Hello folks, new battery made no difference. Bike starts shorting out the starter relay switch. Booked into the shop in a week. Thank god for a 2nd bike! Oh and the r/h switchgear is a nightmare to fit back!
