gently riding like a wimp I went to see Maxton today, after asking them to set up standard forks/spring to suit my weight and ride style.I has set the bike as far as I could to the forum " Veejay settings" but wanted an expert to sort it. I met Richard and Nathan and after a quick check told me a fork seal was leaking, and to make sure my disc/pads weren't getting "lubriacted" or no brakes! They couldnt sort it there and then but made a small "leak reducer" and I will get the forks and shock uprated after Easter.
You can read their report on the failings of the standard set up in the Gallery but to summarise my bikes settings
    front forks
                                         Base Settings            Maxton Settings
     reb                                      -4 clicks                 -12 clicks
    sag            48mm
comments under-sprung,too much static sag,too much compression damoing
    rear shock
                                               -1.25 revs              -2 revs
    preload                             +20clicks               + 25 clicks (max)
    sag                                       32mm                   20mm
under sprung  -too much static sag- too much compression damping

This for my 18.5 stone weight and gentle touring ride style.
I am NOT saying they are right,or suggesting you copy these -purely letting you know what they said about my 2018 bike.
    ride safe

I had my forks rebuilt at Maxton, I was very happy with the result, a really helpful company with knowledgeable staff.
