Hello all,
Can I ask if any of you know if the OEM crash/engine bars are painted silver, or is the silver just a normal natural aluminium finish. It looks like the latter to me. I'm planning on getting them powder coated black, and I want to know what preparation I'm going to have to do.
Thanks in advance ! 😁👍

OEM bars are made of aluminium and painted silver or later ones are black. All they are is a bracket for the OEM fog lights.

They are definitely not crashbars. At standstill or slow speed they can help prevent damaging the plastic but if you want to take the bike offroad they are useless.
But getting back to the question. You have to sandblast it or sand is clean if you want to powdercoat.
