Been riding for 25 years, current bike besides my new VFR1200X DCT is a mint 1982 GL1100. I absolutely love my VFR1200X, have only put 70 miles on it so far.

A few of my “old wing” as well

My recently sold at auction CX500 Turbo

Beautiful collection! Congrats on the VFR!  I think I saw that bike for sale over in Miami.  Not sure though. Similar but no crash bars.  I'm over in sw Florida Naples Fort Myers area.  Maybe we'll see you around. We do a lot of riding through the Everglades and center of the state. Maybe we'll see you around!  Congratulations again and ride safe!

Thanks, yes it was at a dealer in Miami, actually two. I bought the one with just 2k miles on it and a few accessories. I would love to meet up for a ride. Looking forward to learning more about the bike.

Sure.  We'll make sure to meet up.   Recovering from a surgery now so I have a few more weeks to go.  Fingers crossed!  Interesting thing about this bike is that the problems are few and far between.  Mods and maintenance and performance of the tires, oil, seats, suspension are what drive the conversations here.  Good problem to have.  It's a bike you can focus on just enjoying.

Here is what I think gets the most attention on this bike.

    Seat...I went with corbin.

Suspension...hyperpro for me...changing fronts to Traxxion Dynamics one of these days.

    Tires...up to you

Oil... 30w, 40w, now blends seem to be getting traction

Risers...1 to 2 inches without changing cables
    Foot pegs...lots of choices

    Bars...tons of choices

    Must do:

Grease the dog bone and needle bearings on the suspension

Remove all slack from throttle actuator cable

    Lube cables

    Torque your spokes regularly

    Change final drive oil

ECU soft reset ( my opinion)

Battery maintenance on DCT is really important...you know batteries don't last here in Florida.

I think stock suspension is not enjoyable and needs attention.  It's not unsafe or unstable but can feel that way from time to time.  Again opinion.

Anyhow, hope that is not too much too soon. It really is just a fantastic bike overall.
