Im approacing a big service, the dealer i was using will not be seeing me again.
Im in Northampton but im more than willing to travel to somewhere that will look after my bike and do what im paying them for.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance

I’ve used Vertu Honda at Nottingham. They seem pretty reasonable and always send a video report of the bike.
Always obliging and friendly.
Depends really whether you need or want Honda dealer stamps or not. There’s lots of decent independents about as well.

What does the video report show, the work being done?

Video reports are now common place, problem is they certainly don’t show the leaking oil from the sump plug, the un-insulated bundle of wires around the headstock or the loose heated grip.....!

Sorry that I can't recommend one but I totally understand your concerns. I know there will be decent dealers/mechanics out there but finding one is the thing. I once had a dealer try to tell me that the rubber fuel hose (that went onto the fuel tap under the tank) wasn't supposed to have a clip on it. It just pushes on. They are all like it mate.
Yea right. BS.
If I ever have to have something done by a dealer I always check afterwards to look for sloppy work. Lost grommets, kinked or squashed wires and hoses, cracked plastic trim etc and usually find it.
Seems many CT owners do their own servicing for piece of mind and I will do as much of it myself as I can too.

On the B.I.R.D. forum, if someone is looking at buying they are advised
not to go for one with a full dealer service history.
Most people that do the service themselves, do a far superior job.

Years ago the FJ1200 owners club had Doc -who ran the club and serviced/sold members bikes. He even modded his own making it monoshock.Had a guy ride from Malta to get it serviced!
that's what you call a good contact -max knowlege and total enthusiasm for the one model.Spares sold-and fitted -and you knew they had been checked for use and quality.
don't suppose theres a CT equivilent?
