Well, two weeks and 1100 miles in to the new bike. I can say that Ruby certainly hasn’t disappointed.
200 miles on the first day of ownership as part of a RoSPA group ride out, followed by numerous other trips out.
I find her very comfortable, and the screen on one from highest seems to suit me, whichever helmet I wear.
Tried the heated grips as well and am pleasantly surprised with them.
Mileage wise, seems to be mid to late 40’s, with best mileage seen on a long motorway run oop north.
First service completed while I waited at Vertu Honda, Nottingham. Slotted me in with one days notice, and as obliging as always.
The tyres are a vast improvement over the last OEM ones I had the displeasure of trying, on the NC750X. These Bridgestones seem to handle pretty well in both wet and dry conditions.
Only disappointment has been the top case as it doesn’t fit me helmet in, however I try.
The locking takes some getting used to as I’m usually a Givi user, but all seems ok.
Rear hugger and rad guard fitted already. Got to sort the sat nav next. Any ideas for brackets? I’ve been looking at the SW Motech one, but in two minds. Used one before, good kit, but it’s set a little low. Would prefer one above the clocks, but a search has not found an alternative yet.
Saw the BMW rear mudguard that can be fitted. Like the look of that, and am tempted to go down that route as I do ride all year round, and the rear does seem to throw some spray up onto the top case.
Well, looking forward to piling on the miles.
