Morning all, what is the correct torque for the 4 small bolts holding the DCT filter housing on please? Nothing in the little manual and before anyone asks I have tried searching the forum with these keywords but not found it.

Not the answer to your question, but page 3-16 of the service manual states "Install the oil filter cover and tighten the bolts". I cannot find a reference in the service manual to a torque value associated with bolts. I'll look again this evening when I have a few more minutes of time.

Thanks funbobby. I would guess somewhere around 5 lb/ft because they are small bolts into alloy, the reason I ask is you only over tighten them once don't you! I also want to set all 4 the same so I don't warp the cover too.

@jfro5867. I cannot locate a specific service manual torque value for the DCT clutch oil filter bolts. However, page 1-15 lists standard torque values for various fastener type sizes. Perhaps it will answer your question.

A word of caution. My mate rides a DCT Africa Twin. He remembers the AT filter bolt torque specification being 9 ft lbs. (His service manual was not nearby to verify value.) One of the bolt heads twisted off when nearing 9 ft lbs. Other Africa Twin riders have also reported the same bolt head twisting off issue while setting DCT clutch oil filter bolt torques. He strongly recommends hand tightening the bolts!

Thanks Funbobby. Yea that is a bit concerning, don't want to snap anything! What I might do is use my TQ wrench to undo the bolts starting off with super low settings and increase click by click until they release. That should give me a good setting. Wonder why Honda don't provide a figure on such a critical thing? It's not like it's a mudguard bolt or whatever. Anyway, thank you once again.
