    Aftermarket Touring Screen

First of all apologies for bombarding the forums with questions.

Anyone had a raging success with an aftermarket touring screen? I guess the 2020 bike I collect next week will be the same as the 16-19 model.

I’ve seen a few posts on here and I will try the DIY deflector but wondered if anyone has found a screen that reduces buffeting? I’m 6’ 3” and sometimes use an Airhawk cushion so I ride tall in the saddle.

    Thanks.

I've just gone from standard to MRA X-creen.

I had quite considerable buffeting with the standard.

After a bit of playing and eventually going with the shorter brackets for the fixing of the flip,
I'm quite pleased with the result.
    I'm 5'8" (and the important 1/4")

Thanks DE65Y if you hadn’t shortened the brackets etc do you reckon it would work for a 6 foot 3 but no quarter?

I didn't shorten the brackets, the X-creen comes with two bracket variants.
The short one that I'm using holds the flip screen at one height and only allows the angle of the flip to be adjusted.
The other variant gives a height adjustment of the flip screen where the top setting puts the flip right at the top of the fixed screen,
the angle of the screen can then be varied.
Unfortunately it would be difficult for me to say whether the screen would suit you but I think it would be an improvement on standard.

Though as you are picking up a 2020 bike I would hold on and see how good the standard is first as it comes with the height adjustable screen to start with.

Thanks, that's useful info. It's the Highlander so comes with a taller screen. I'll see how that goes.

I have a Highlander which I’ve attached a spoiler and find that the perfect solution.
I also ride with an air cushion and am 5’ 11”.  :028:

    Hello and welcome to Crosstouring!

I am just about to post the solution to the screen problems as a result of a lot of research, trials and help from a manufacturer.
I now have a screen that is not much larger the original, does not foul the handlebars on full lock, and looks good! It smooths the flow of air rather than battering it and makes open face riding great. It also reduces the wet shoulders effect in the rain. (I too am 6'3..

The manufacturer is preparing to launch so watch this space!!
