    MMoto crashbars for DCT

Has anyone installed the crashbars for the DCT model made by MMoto?

    Link: http://www.mmotoracks.com/product/engine-guard-crash-bars-for-dct-for-honda-vfr1200x-crosstourer

Search results show a few positive reviews. I purchased these via eBay and they showed up this weekend. They seem well made and solid. However, they didn’t include any installation instructions. The website shows 4 attachment points, which seems straightforward. But they sent 4 different size/length bolts, 2 of which have washers. I have no idea which one goes where and I’m a little nervous about experimenting as I’m not very mechanically-experienced. Can anyone offer some guidance?

    Thanks for looking.

The MMoto crash bars look more than substantial than SW-Motech.  I'm tempted to buy a set for my manual bike instead of installing SW-Motech (bars have been sitting in my garage waiting to be installed for awhile now  :164:).

I’m not familiar with that brand but just installed the Givi engine guards today on my VFR (manual).
The Givi and 2 70mm; 1 90mm and 1 100mm bolts and instructions didn’t help.  BUT, after removing the stock bolts for the mounting it was easy to tell which location needed which bolts by going by the stock bolt sizes.
With the Givi, the throttle side took the 2 70mm.  The clutch side took the 100mm up closest to the seat while the 90mm the lower mounting point.

If the MMoto uses same mounting points thought this might help a little.

    Good luck.

Thank you! I followed up with the ebay seller and he provided (google-translated) instructions. I'll post those here for anyone else that needs them.

I reached out to the ebay seller. The manufacturer did not provide him with English instructions, but he used Google to translate a Russian copy. Here is what he sent me:

Installation instructions for Honda VFR1200X Crosstourer roll bars.
Replace the four engine mounting bolts one by one with special bolts from
a set of fasteners. The length of the threaded cylindrical part must be the same as that of
    corresponding factory bolt.
    Special bolt locations:
    160 mm rear left,
    125 mm rear right,
    110 mm front left,
    95 mm front right.
The length is given in total. Tightening torque 5.5 kgf * m.
Install both halves of the arches on the hexagonal parts using four M12x20 bolts. Place washers under the front ones. The right and left parts must be inserted into one another. The joints of the halves are fixed with M8x50 bolts with nuts. After tightening the M12 bolts to a torque of 6 kgf * m. insert plugs Ø25 mm.
On the DCT modification, slight plastic rework is required (right front bolt).

I haven't tried to install yet, but I'm hoping to give it a shot this weekend before the riding season is over.

Hi, I am curious how the installation went?  Did you end up having good clearance for the DCT cover?  Trying to give my bride Christmas gift ideas and crashbars could be on the list.  A friend recommended SW Motech so trying to compare the two.  Thank you.

I like those bars, they look very protective.
