    Hi Everyone,

I finally bought a VFR1200x DCT and I love it. I had to go a few states over to pick it up as the Honda warehouses would not transfer to other parts of the country and our region was out of the DCT.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone and eventually, helping others. I have a ton of questions including seat, oil, foot pegs, panniers, etc. but I'll read older threads before I pester anyone.

If you just started another oil thread, you're dead to me.

Complete sarcastic humor for the record.   Congrats on the new bike!  It really is a great machine.  I keep on looking for reasons to buy a replacement and just cannot get there.   Definitely not perfect, but what bike is?

Stock seat is terrible.  I have a Corbin and it allows me to actually ride all day without any discomfort.  Most tend to agree.

DaveinNC just put some new cases on that I think are the best looking top loading cases avaialble.   I think he has pics here.

Oil is as controversial on this bike as it is with any other.   Synthetic, mineral, 30W, 40W, Motul, Mobil1...everyone has an opinion...yet regardless of the choice the bikes do keep on running.  I cannot recall the circumstances, but there were a few reporting issues with DCT after changing oil to a specific weight/composition.  I have only used mineral, no issues, but am switching to synthetic.

2" rox risers work with a caveat...threads are here in this forum.

Suspension opinion ranges from it's fine, I'll live with it, or I hate it.  I was in the hated it category.  Hyperpro on the rear and the front is going to Traxxion as soon as my garage floor epoxy fully cures.   To me, way too much chatter and feels unstable on washboard roads even though it is not.

Goldwing foot pegs fit and are reported to be much comfier than the stock.

This is really a good group of guys here.  Nobody jumps on you if you post something that has been covered before. Very helpful and always civil.   There is a North American VFR trip planned for the future...check it out on the Facebook page.

    Anyhow, congratulations again!

    Mike
