The competition..... (kick start topic)
« on: November 12, 2011, 07:13:10 PM »

The Crosstourer has a mighty task on it's hands as it needs to compete in an established market with the likes of BMW's GS1200.

Plus Triumph have just launched their Tiger Explorer 1200 and Kawasaki want some of the action with their newly announced Versys 1000.

Can the Crosstourer compete in this market and will it be successful  :261:

Good question! Sure it wont be easy for the Crosstourer. Personally I always been a Honda fan - kept my last bike for more than 20 years. But that doesn't mean that I would not look at other bikes too.
BMW with their pancake engine concept just is not an option - that is - for me. Tiger Explorer sounds interesting ...  new construction with that triple engine sure is some venture and it has to be "proven" first... Yamaha Super Tenere sounds interesting too.
Around the world and back ... driven Honda motorbikes all over Europe, Australia, NewZealand, Japan, Russia .....

Yes, it will be quite difficult to compete with the rest of its class unless the XT can perform in par with the Tenere and GS both on and off road. So far in my  country Tenere have pick up on sales. The demand is quite overwhelming. Even some GS riders converted due to S10 have the capabilities and low in maintainance compare to GS.

Superb  :029: .... Kumamoto down at Kyushu Island.

I actually been in Hamamatsu Factory 22 years ago ... you wouldn't belief a! I personally knew a Honda Engineer at the time, we (my girlfriend) and me were invited to a tour at the factory. Unfortunately I have lost contact to the friend there .....

Assembled in Japan!!!! That is the greatest news!!! Thia means aftermarket parts can be much easier on the pocket for Asian riders. Unlike my current babe Varadero.
