    Strange noise after open switch

    Hi guys,
As I mentioned on a previous post, i am a new crosstourer owner, and i am a little concerned with a recent discover with the bike and want to know if is something normal.

When i open the switch the bike makes a smooth noise negar the dashboard, i thought that was the normal cpu noise but is not, is like an alarm sound but very very smooth and dont dissapear, the noise only disapears if i press the run button, or if i turn the switch off or if i start the engine(i dont know if it continues on this case because the engine sound cover everything else 😅😃)
Someone had experienced this behaviour on your bikes? is this normal or should i take it to the service for check??
Please take into account that this is not dct version, is from 2015, has 49000 kms on it and is working perfectly fine.

    Thanks for your replies guys.
    Greetings

There are many posts about this.
I’m assuming its the noise that changes when you turn the throttle. Like you say, sounds like an alarm. It’s completely normal.

I was told by a Honda technician its some sort of electrical noise to do with the flybywire throttle. I’ve had 2 CTs and both have done it.
It’s not to be confused with the fuel pump which you will here prime briefly when you turn the ignition and then stops.

    Hi Hartley
    Thanks for your reply.
I thinks is not with the throttle, i dont touch the throtle and the noise is there after the switch on, the smooth “alarm” noise occurs after the switch on with the engine stoped, i thought that was a cpu or the fuel pump like you said, but i can hear that noise every moment while the switch is on but if i push the button to start the engine, i can’t hear it anymore, in that moment the only noise is the made by the engine 🙂.

    Can you please tell me
on what posts someone had talk about this.

    Thanks a lot. 🙏🏼

Nacho, what i mean is with the bike ignition on but not engine running, if you twist the throttle the noise will change.
Trust me Nacho, it is normal. :028:

My question about this when i had my first CT:

For the record, my mates Triumph makes the same noise.
