In my first version Hero Blobs are a little bit longer than these on the Crosstourer!  :027:

In the UK a Hero Blob is the metal pin screwed under the riders foot rest, when the bike is on maximum lean angle the pin touches and grinds on the road surface. I just noticed that the hero blobs on the crosstourer are very short and I wondered if they are as short on the varadero bikes.

Ooooooh.... that whats hero blob means.....  :745:
i wouldn't know cause my Fatgerl was 2nd hand with aft market footrest (no hero blob)

Freaky 'hero blobs' are the bits of screwed in metal (usually a bolt) on the ends of footpegs, that are there are replaceable wear items. Often these are an inch or so long, but the one's in the picture are small.

I would think for most people riding this type of bike, ground clearance won't be too much of an issue unless you plan to do the odd track day, in which case I would recommend replacing the hero blobs with some titanium bolts - for the sparking effect!
