New Corbin ...seat... Update - Maybe this works.

I just received a brand new Corbin seat for the Crosstourer, direct from the factory. My original intent was to use it on an upcoming longer trip. I'm about 5'9" and need it reshaped slightly. At the time I had and still do a scheduled appointment at Corbin for a new seat where they would fit it to me since I sit closer to the tank and am not a large guy (maybe 160# tops). I ordered the last one they had in inventory hoping it would work straight away. Were I just a couple inches taller, perfect.

So I have this new in the box seat and I can either have them reshape it at my ride-in appointment or just go with getting another and they shape the foam before covering it. Either way works for me but perhaps someone is interested that wants a Corbin, is slightly taller and then don't have to wait for one to be built, just wait for the post to deliver it.

I'm in California so consider that if you are overseas. The seat is all black including the stitching and piping. What I can say is that the seat will not push you into the tank, its flatter than the stocker and there is no nasty ridges that dig into the underside of your thighs. When you put your legs down, that part of the seat is sculpted nicely with nothing to rub your legs. That means the reach to the ground in easier.  Price is $533 plus shipping in USD. It is brand new, not ridden on.

    THE UPDATE:

It might turn out that my brand new Corbin seat needs a new cover if the amount of reshaping to match my skinny rear end and my close to the tank seating style requires that.  At that point I will elect to have Corbin simply make a new seat for me that day and ship this seat back home (or to you) instead. In consideration that I will have ridden on the seat for about 500 miles (still not the 1000 mile break-in) I'll offer it for $350 shipping included in the lower 48 or additional shipping anywhere else.

The seat will be as brand new, no wear on any surfaces, just what you'd get from them as they sell them.

My ride in date is the 11th of August so if you are interested we can set up all the arrangement before I go there and it gets shipped directly from Corbin (they probably get better rates if it's going overseas.

$350 isn't going to get you a better seat anywhere.

Hmmm... that's tempting.  I just traded emails with Sargents (close to me in Jacksonville, FL) and although lower cost than Corbin, Sargents would want my existing seat in their shop for six weeks!  That won't be happening.

The core strength of the Corbin is the pan, it will last forever and doesn't deform. I like being able to keep the stock seat because if the bike gets sold it leaves with the stock seat as new. If they want the Corbin, well... :007:

Excuse the bump but since the ride in date is so close and I lowered the price which is depends on if I can get the reshape or just buy another I'm giving it a go.

$350 USD / 295 EUR (+ shipping if not within the lower 48).

I will know on the 11th morning PST if the reshape can be done or it makes better sense to buy another seat. At that time the seat will have been used on two very short rides (less than a few hundred miles total.  First come first served.  It would be shipped directly from the Corbin factory from me.  If interested PM me.

I never got on Facebook, I have a hard enough time keeping up with some email and one or two forums. Thanks for the tip.
