    Entering Spain - requirements

As we were due to travel to Spain for a month a few days before the borders closed in March we signed up to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office travel Spain advice Emails.
I have just received the latest Email from them and it turns out that you need to fill in an entry form before departure which will generate a QR code which you will need to show upon entry.
Thought it might be worth mentioning as I would assume quite a few members will be heading for the Picos over the next few months, as we are in September.
I’ve included a link to the FCO info on Spain.

After double checking the requirements, it would appear that this only relates to air passengers, yet the FCO just stipulates “entering” Spain and doesn’t specify air passengers. I’ve queried this with Brittany Ferries asking them to please clarify if any QR code is required for ferry passengers.
I’ll post up the reply once I’ve received it.

    Hi Dave,

    Hope youre all well.

Just seen your post regarding Spain, well, what a bloody ballache all this is eh.  I see youre still planning to go.

We were originally due to sail out to Santander last Sunday for 2 1/2 weeks doing Picos and Portugal. When i realised it was very unlikely to happen i moved my ferry booking and all the hotels back to a Sept to sail on the 13th.
Now im on the brink of moving it back as late as i can, then on again until some time summer 21.

We have a few concerns. Firstly, we plan to ride into Portugal which as i understand it still has the 2 week self isolate terms but that could change at any time. Im also concerned that as were are seeing flare ups here and there we could end up in a situation where we sail out and everythings fine but while were away things change and they impose another lockdown or change the requirement for self isolation.

On top of all that is the fact that we just dont know what its going to be like when we get there.

We can move our booking up until a few hours before we go but they will take the balance of around 550 quid in a few days and id rather hold the booking with only our deposit rather than the full amount, lot of money to loose if it all goes tits up.

Part of me thinks sit tight and see what happens, the other, sod it an bin the trip for this year.

The 30th of August me and MichelDB start a trip.
Originally it was the plan to visit the Balkan but instead of opening up it is closing back up so i made an alternative trip.
Starting in the Netherlands into Germany, Zwitzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Andorra, Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal, France, Geneva, Luxembourg, Belgian and back in 20 days.
The route is planned but not cut in stone tablets but other than that there is no plan.
As far as i know i can enter all those country's without problems and within Europe there are agreements that if there is any reason for a new lockdown it will be done regionally.
This week in Spain there where 2 regions witch closed up, one is on our route but passing through is OK, you're just not allowed to stop for gas or grocery's.
If it gets worse i go around. We will most of the time overnight at a campsite and if a reservation is required i will call them at the spot and reserve a place for in about 5 minutes  :164:
