Difficult shifting on new 2017 CT

I just bought a new 2017 CT USA version.
After riding several hundred miles I have noticed that it has become more difficult to shift from 1st to 2nd. It seems to require more effort than I would think to make the shift. Sometimes going from 5th to 6th I feel 2 brief clicks as it goes into gear. The dealer told me to put new oil in the bike and in the final drive which I did, it didn’t seem to make a difference.
I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

    What oil do you use?
I don't understand the problems with the shifting over here. I have about 72000km on the bike without any problems and i only change oil somewhere between 15 and 20kkm and only changed the transmission oil in the final drive once.

Thanks for the reply. I had a chance to ride a new 2017 today from the dealer, to see if the transmission shifts similar to mine. The shift from 1st to 2nd is the same as mine, a little noisy and clunky. But since both bikes feel the same it must be normal.

    Thank you

I have 2017 to and it needs time to sit, it is new! I had a similar thing! It also depands on revs and timing of the shifts!
My has 5500km now is  becoming smooth, still sometime makes a click between 1 & 2 gear and it normal!
You have to chanage engine oil at 1000km!
Do not worry, it all ok! 😃

    Hi Toeman,
It is a new bike stiffness thing, it will improve with mileage. The thing with 1st to 2nd is that 1st is a constant mesh cog and 2nd through 6th are synchromesh cogs so it will always feel like more effort to go between 1 and 2.
5th to 6th as Max2007 says requires a learning to be smooth and deliberate, but you will probably be in cruise mode with this shift so you can practise it.
Beautiful part of the world you live in, I toured there a few years ago including the Lolo pass and rate Idaho stunning.

I own a US version 17. Give it about 5 or 6 thousand miles and keep clean oil in it. Adjust the shifter for your foot/boot size and run a 10w40 full syn. I run Mobil1 4t 10-40. Mine was clunky at first but it smooths out.
