I was frustrated with the Givi bash plate instructions and decided to put together a "how to" installation guide. I hope the photos help a forum member installing a Givi bash plate.

Thanks for your contribution Rob. Really Helpful!
Can you confirm that there is no problem with the centre stand clearance and that your bike is a 2016 or later model. Also can you confirm that your plate is Givi part no RP 1141 please?
    Just about to order....
    Thank You,
    Robin Reliant

@robin. My VFR is a 2017 DCT model. The Givi DCT bash plate part number is RP 1141 which I ordered through Twisted Throttle (www.twistedthrottle.com).

I can’t speak to center stand clearance as I don’t have a center stand installed. I would email Givi prior to ordering to answer your clearance question.

I found two "copy and paste" errors with the photos that may be confusing.

    1) 2nd photo (Givi Bash Plate Installation - FRONT LEFT SIDE): The text box under large circle showing the bracket installation photo states "Left Rear Givi Bracket Installed". Text should read "Left Front Givi Bracket Installed".

    2) 3rd photo (Givi Bash Plate Installation - FRONT RIGHT SIDE): The text box pointing to inner bracket location states "Givi Front Left Bracket". Text should read "Givi Front Right Bracket".

Thanks @Red Boll, oskar. The major time suck for me was interpreting the Givi instruction schematics. I spent a couple hours trying to determine the bash plate bracket mounting locations. So no one makes the same mistakes I did, do NOT remove the side panels or radiator grille.

With the photos as an aid to the Givi instructions, I suspect a non-mechanically inclined individual could install the bash plate in less than two hours. Maybe an hour for the mechanically inclined folks.

I have the Hepco & Becker but i'm thinking of changing to the Givi because the plastic covers witch are there originally are getting smashed up with my off-roading trips.
On the left site the mount is broken off from the engine the first time i went down and the last time the cover itself cracked.
I'm sure it was not the last time i will put the bike down  :164:
