Would anyone happen to know if part number 08L42-MGE-800-G1 has been superseded?
I'm having trouble finding it through my usual part suppliers (Belgium).

08L42-MGE-800-G1 is a label for the NC700X carrier, see pic.

I assume you are looking for the cap?
    Cant find it.....  :027:

That's what I meant by having trouble finding it.
I took that picture off my own bike, which is a VFR1200X, not an NC700X.

It's the mounting plate of the OEM top box, that mounts on top of the grey whateveryoucallit with the pillion handles.
The top box is placed on that particular plate.

I'm not entirely sure if someone at honda hasn't slapped a wrong label on the part...

Hey, I forgot to thank you for this link. That was indeed the part I needed, although it had a different part number.
Worked like a charm, so thanks!

Hey Sceptalot - can you tell me where you bought it from? Honda dealer?

    Thanks and groetjes vanuit Bruxelles

    Dag battle_bulge,

I got it from here: https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/honda-parts/08l42mcs80212

The carrier plate was damaged from a crash where the top box was ripped loose. The plate needed to be replaced, but the top box still rattled off when I went off-road due to the locking mechanism of the box itself being damaged.

The hook that hinges out lock it in place was missing the lower half, so it could no longer hook beneath the mounting plate.

I ended up having to 3D print that part as it didn't seem like it's a spare part that's sold anywhere.

    Bedankt.
So you too are riding with 3d parts on the bike...
I reprinted last week new support blocks for my diy wind spoiler I added 3y ago to the top of my oem high windshield.

The red beauty had been sleeping for more than 6 months in the garage, gosh she is now enjoying being out again in the Ardennes!
