    Just some points of view on the change of plugs.

    Old ones came out easy, no work at all.  They were consistent in color and without excessive deposits.  The gap was still well inside the maximum gap.

    I didn't have a magnetic plug socket... so I just loosened up the plug a coupla turns and just used the coil for extracting the plug from the well.

    Very easy to do.  The preparation for the front plugs is a bit fiddly to make the coil available.. but extremely doable.  And at 13$ US per plug done yourself its well worth the time.

    Thats the first time I've ever heard someone say things like 'very easy' and 'extremely doable' when working on a CT.
    I bet it took you at least 2-3 hours, and removing the airbox with all the connectors is not what I call easy and doable for the average driver.  :006:

    You must have more experience in maintaining bikes when saying things like this  :169:

    Just because things take time to do does not mean that it is difficult. It may be more of an annoyance than anything to get to the point to do the work.

    Just want to make clear that this is not a job for people with little experience.
    Since removing the fueltank is already a step too far for most riders, you really cant say changing spark plugs is easy.
    It is definitely next level compared to changing oil.

    I didn't have to take off the gas tank.. just propped it up.

    Other than the tools needed in taking off the panels I used a basic tools.  To take the plugs out I used a 4 inch extension, a swivel, and a magnetic plug socket, in that order.  I did need to use a tire iron to pop the front coils out.. Not on the coils!! on my fingers to help with getting some leverage / strength to pop them off.. the rears were very accessible and no help was needed for my old hands.

    Yes I do have lots of time working on all types of vehicles.. mechanic for 32 years.. but I didn't deem the work specific enough to be difficult.. just finicky.   If you can change the air cleaner you can change the plugs IMHO

    Certainly a job not to be tackled by the ordinary home DIY mechanic, unless your an experienced mechanic with a huge and comprehensive tool chest.

    There is one thing to be questioned: you did change the spark plugs but did not check the valves?
    When done at 16k miles it shouldnt be a problem, otherwise I'm rather sure the exhaust side valves will be out of specs.
