I desperately want to get out for a ride on my bike, I’m climbing the walls. However, somethings are more important. My actions just may cause someone to loose someone they love and that is just too heavy a price for me. This is my choice, I’ll not condemn anyone for making a different choice. But I would ask , just give it a minutes thought. On a more positive note, just imagine how clean your bike could be.

While I totally agree with you Paul regards being socially responsible as a motorcyclist, the only possible caveat I would put on what your saying is that I’ve got two full lawn mower petrol cans in the garage which I’m quite willing to sacrifice the lawn for
in order that I can fill the bikes petrol tank.
I would then have absolutely no need to come into close contact with any other person while both enjoying time out aboard the CT and maintaining my social distance.
Please forgive me my thoughts, but after such a lengthy time off the bike I’m soooooooooo desperate to get back on board.

No lockdown in The Netherlands yet. Pubs, schools, cinemas, etc are closed and I also think about this situation much.
Panic buying is still a thing here.
Since a week toilet-paper is not available anymore in the supermarket...
This week I worked at home the whole week. This will continue for the next weeks I guess.
I do think there is no harm riding on a motorcycle now when you stick to all the health regulations issued.
Anyway, be carefull everyone and stay safe and healthy!

If not in a lockdown you can put on your helmet and give it a go! Why not?

I concur with your thoughts, Paul; it's inescapable that motorcycling does involve a bit more risk (than driving, or doing neither), and often a greater impact from any incident, and I would worry about calling on increasingly scarce resources as a result of doing something that isn't really necessary (arguably this also includes driving a car).
Edit: There might also be the risk that the resources might not be available for you.
I suppose one slight mitigation could be that there's probably less traffic on the roads (or is going to be), so the risk of an incident might be reduced a bit.
At the very least, if we do ride, then we should make sure that we're wearing the most, best protective gear that's available to us, and ride especially carefully.
