    Coronavirus travel plans

It would appear that the COVID-19 Coronavirus is spreading rapidly, especially in Europe with the World Health Organisation declaring it the epicentre of the pandemic.
Because of this we have decided today to cancel our month on the Costa Calida in Spain which we were planning to leave for on Monday as large areas of the country are now in “lockdown”, including the Costa Calida.
We’ve took the decision to cancel our apartment booking and initially transfer our Bilbao ferry booking till October and then once the new sailing schedules are released for 2021 transfer again to March.
I’m sure we are not alone in this situation and can only hope that this outbreak peaks and then subsides over the next few months.
Anyway here’s hoping that all forum members and there loved ones stay safe and healthy over the coming months.

Oof, I feel you. Especially if you travel now. Me and my buddy have a trip 5 day trip planned end of may, begin june through the Alps (Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy and Switzerland). Right through the red zones... Luckily I booked my hotels with a cancellation options up to around may 15th. So if the lockdown is still active, we need to cancel and have to ride plan B, a route which we'll be making the coming weeks (probably Scandinavia, or maybe Scotland depending on the situation).

Know the feeling Dave. We were planning to go to Italy in April (not on the bike) which we've just cancelled.
Got a Spain/Portugal trip booked for July, wouldnt be surprised if that goes out the window too. A PITA but this horrible bug is costing some people a lot more than a lost holiday.

Question is...Is anywhere safe in Europe?

We've got pre-Easter bimble across the top of Scotland planned for 7 days ...just hope the midges cant carry the virus around....little ###s!

Regardless of where you ride...ride safe and stay clean

It’s a terrible time, especially for the elderly and the vulnerable and putting a huge financial strain on families, businesses and the self employed.
Hopefully and perhaps a little optimistically light will start to appear at the end of this dark tunnel towards the end of summer.
I, along with a friend who’s never been, are booked to visit the Picos mountains towards the end of September.
I cannot wait to return to Spain as it’s my favourite motorcycle destination and I’m looking forward to seeing my friends face when he first experiences the Picos.
In the meantime, embrace social distancing and stay safe.
