EU Driving Licence
on: January 31, 2020, 07:16:09 PM
I hope thatyou are all aware that, as of 11.00pm tonight, you'll need a Euro Driving Licence?

I've read somewhere that there will be dispensation until end of 2020 but you tell that to a Anti-Brit Gendarme who's going to impound your Pride n Joy!

Effectively in Europe, you will be riding without a valid Driving Licence which could invalidate your insurance unless you have a Green Card

Be safe - spend £5.75 at your Local Post Office and get a 5 year Euro Driving Licence - simply take along your UK Passport, your driving licence and a passoprt-style photo and they will issue your Euro Licenec there and then

HTH?

From BBC News website

If you want to drive on your holiday in Europe in 2020, you will be able to do so without any additional requirements.

What happens after the transition depends on the arrangements with each country.

Some countries will require drivers to have an International Driving Permit (IDP), especially for longer visits, which can be bought at post offices for £5.50.

Specific advice for each country is available from the government's website.

Looks like we are OK until 31-Dec-2020 at least

We’re heading over to Spain for a month in the car from mid March and again for a week on the bike in September so for the sake of £5.50 I’ll be paying the post office a visit.  :028:
