    DCT Stuck in Gear ???

    Hi All.
My 2012 Crosstourer now has 51,000 Miles on the Clock and I've just had my 1st Problem.
Turn Ignition On, Fuel Pump Primes, Showing Neutral on the Dash, Hit the Start Button......Nothing apart from the Head Light Dimming.
At 1st I thought it was the Starter Motor so Drained the Coolant and Oil,  removed the oil Cooler so I could remove the Starter Motor.
Starter Motor seemed fine so put it all back together,  Fresh Oil and Coolant and its Started Fine.
Runs fine but wheeling it back in my Garage and put the Side Stand Down and it Cut Out, It was still in 1st Gear.
Turned Ignition Off and Back on again, Showing Neutral but hit the Start Button and Nothing.
I dont remember hearing a Loud clonk, i.e DCT selecting Neural even though the Green N Is lit on the Dash.
Tried the Centre Stand and spinning the back wheel with Ignition On and Off but No Luck.

    Any Ideas People  ??????

    Thanks in Advance.

I have a 2017 VFR1200X DCT with 120 miles on it. I had 2 different times when I when to accelerate and it felt like my brakes were locked up. Not sure what was causing that either. Any ideas?

I don’t have a shop manual for reference, but I believe there is a side stand safety micro switch that sends a signal to shut the motor off when the side stand is extended while the VFR is in gear. My WAG (wild ass guess) is your side stand micro-switch is the culprit. 1) I’d thoroughly clean the switch and exercise it while it is installed on the VFR (simple and inexpensive). 2) If that didn’t correct the issue and the micro switch isn’t too costly, I’d replace the switch. 3) Trailer her to your trusted Honda mechanic.

Let us know what the issue is when it is corrected. Good luck.

@Brian. You stated in the Oil Light and Start Problem thread, “I have the same Problem and if I hit the Rear Seat the Starter Motor kicks on and Starts.”

That would have been good info in your original post. Having that information points towards a pinched or loose “wire”. Post a photo if you find the problem wire connection.

my dct was stuck in first after switching off in first , turned out my battery wasn't powerful enough to click it back into neutral on switching on , so make sure you always click to neutral when turning the bike off .

    Hi Mate.
I didn't know at the Time of  Posting, I did Forget to Mention its a DCT.
I was at a Total Loss so put the Seat back on and Punched the Seat to Lock it in Position when it Started.
I waited until it wouldn't Start again and Punched the Seat and it Started so I'm only ASSUMING it's the same Problem as the other Post.
I didn't know there were any Earth Leads around that area that would cause this so it's still a Mystery at the moment.
I'm gonna strip the Rear end Tomorrow Morning, Topbox, OEM Rack and Side Panels and see what's what.
    I'll Report back.

    ☆☆☆UPDATE☆☆☆

Fould the Offending Wire and the Bike is Starting as it should.
I Removed the Luggage Rack and the 2 x m5 Allen Bolts that secures the Rear Light Cover.
Under this Cover you have what looks like 2 x Relays.
1 of the Wires had Snapped off and there wasn't enough wire to Strip back to Solder.
Not a Problem,  Or so I thought, as I have loads of Old Wiring Looms that I could Rob a Connection off to put in the Plug, Yeah Right, The Terminals Honda use are Slightly Smaller than Normal.
Anyway I managed to get one in there and connected them together and the Relay was Clicking, Bike Started up Fine, Removed the Wire, Bike Wouldn't Start so MUST be the Culprit.
I will Upload some Photo's when I'm on Wi-Fi just in case anyone else has the same Problem.
