Time for something a bit different.

As my 2nd CT celebrated its 3rd birthday and with just under 25000 miles on the clock i guess the time had come to look for something to replace it. Unfortunatly Honda have not been forthcoming with an updated Crosstourer (which would have been ideal) so ive have to change tack.  :084:

Deposit on a new ride paid last week, picking it up today. Ill post some pics later.

I looked at all the usual contenders and realised that to replace the CT would probably cost me in excess of 10K and my mint bike and unless i considered the new AT (which isnt a replacement for the CT) id not be able to have anything with the DCT gearbox. Didnt really seem to make sense.

    I had a rethink.

I was lucky enough to do a tour in the Himalayas last year, one of the aspects of this trip i particularly enjoyed was riding the very poor roads (not unlike off road riding or trails in this country). I know some people ride the CT over allsorts of terrain but im very inexperienced in this so for me the big Honda is just too, well big.

I thought about a full offroad bike, maybe a CRF 250 but i also would like to be able to ride to another area for the weekend, ride some light trails/byways and then ride home again. I want something thats, simple and not going to cost me a fortune to fix if i drop it.

Id had seen a bike that seemed to be able to do all these things and more.

    So here its is:

    My Royal Enfield Himalayan:

and my CT is still in the garage. :152:

Hi Paul hope you and Paula are both fit and well mate.
Absolutely loving the new addition to the family Paul as I too have a real soft spot for the Himalayan and am also thoroughly enjoying following Noraly on her adventures on Dano.
We must get together in the spring mate as I’d love to hear all about your Himalayan trip last year.
