I am looking to purchase a aftermarket COMFORTABLE long distance touring seat for my 2015 X-Tourer,preferably here in Australia. I am 5"10" and weigh in at 88kg. All replys welcome.Thanks Phantom 53.

Hey, I purchased a Top Sellerie comfort seat about three weeks ago.

It's a random page, but go check them out. I purchased a pre-made one (black wilth silver lining) and send my OEM seat back to receive a discount. They are a French company. This is my second purchase I've made there.

I've also had a Bagster Seat on my previously owned NC700X. Different company, same quality, but the premade Top Sellerie was €100,- cheaper so I just went with them this time. You can even  customize it to your liking.

Did you buy it directly from the website http://www.topsellerie.com/ or at a reseller?
Any tips about this seat? Is wider/smaller and or thicker/thinner than stock?

Yes, I purchased directly at them. The seat is both wider and thicker. I purchased the standard length and standard height. Despite them telling me I'm better off with  longer seating space, I got the standard one and it suits me well (6ft 2, 32 inseam and 105kg)

Hi Ron...the seats look the part and look good in the photos on the Top Sellerie site.
Also having 10%off would help towards freight to Aust. Comfort is a main priority for me, as long hours in the saddle
plays a big part on a bike.
I will see what the minister for finance advises.

The seat is quit firm, but wider and thicker than the OEM seat. Soft gel seats are not good at all, you need firmness and good support. I went to my local Ikea about a year ago and bought a slap of real sheep skin with wool for around €30,- for my NC700X. Whenever I rode for more than two hours, I slapped the cover on the seat. I used two simple nylon straps from a backpack I didn't use anymore and secured them on each side of the cover with 2 rivets and tied the straps together under the seat. I cut it up yesterday to make it fit the Xtourer seat. But without the cover, this comfort seat is very comfortable for long trips on its own. It also has more grip. I found my OEM to be slippery and the top layer was starting to wear off. My knees already benefit from a slightly higher seating position with this comfort seat and even more if I strap the cover on. That and the extra butt-massage is an absolute win-win. To compensate the rise and having to bend firther forwards, I installed a cheap set of 20mm bar risers of ebay.

I follow Big Bike Adventures video's on YouTube, an Australian guy who does long and offroad travels with the CT. He also uses some sort of sheepskin cover, but I doubt he got it from Ikea. If you're having doubts about buying a seat, you can also try a sheepskin first, it takes a lot of the pain away!

Ive had sheepskin covers on my bikes for many years. In summer i find they are a lot more comfortable than sitting on a hot vinyl seat.

Ordered a Top Sellerie deluxe seat and its on its way.Plain black with silver piping.Still 10% off until end of December.
May take a few weeks to arrive...cant wait.
