    Anyone else had this happen? I pulled up to the pump at a filling station today, after a slow 40/60 mph ride in traffic, when I released the brake to turn off the ignition the bike started to move forward, I could not hold it back without re-applying the brake,the engine speed was normal tickover  but the bike was acting as though I had just opened the thottle to make a steady getaway. this has only happened once and after  refuelling it was back to normal for the rest of the ride.. 2014 model dct 16,000 mls

    The clutches are controlled hydraulically which involves sensors, valves and an ESU any of which could have burped. Even though it went back to normal I would run through the DCT Clutch Initialization Procedure just to be sure everything is synced properly. It only takes a minute or two and and is a good thing to do periodically anyway. I do it whenever I change the oil on this bike and my DCT Wing. Here it is below from someone else's posting:

    DCT RESET
    The engine has to be up to temperature.
    Make sure the transmission is in N to start
    Engine is off, ignition switch is off
    While pressing D, switch the ignition on, wait until the yellow ‘engine' symbol goes out on the dash, then release D
    Press in fast sequence: DDNDN
    On the dash, the letters D and S should appear together
    Start engine, allow it to idle
    After a few seconds, the letters D and S should go out.
    Stop the engine.
    Restart the engine and press D to insure the transmission goes into gear.

    Thanks for that information, Im due a 16,000 service so will reset after changing the oil.

    Nothing to do with the bike but just as Im typing this reply, theres a WW2 Lancaster bomber doing a demonstration flypast for 1940s fete in a nearby village ,its just flown low over my house twice and boy do those engines sound nice.

    Prime suspect for an intermittent or one time creeping forward event would be........the engine not returning to base idle setting.  Cause.......cable routing, manual cruise device holding throttle open slightly, bar end issue, grip issues????

    I totally agree with marcparnes. A very simple procedure which can cure various DCT problems.

    Thank you so much Marc for publishing the DCT Reset processing

    It really improved the smoothness of my beloved  2016 VFR1200X DCT

    Sure it's not like a full control of a clutch lever on a Standard VFR  but it is a remarkable improvement

    I will keep the info on the bike to be able to remake it as I will need

    Thanks Dembones

    After 68 K km , finally I can appreciate the full potential of the DCT , especially on controlling the slow move and U-turn
    Every owner of a Crosstourer DCT  and may be also the NC 750 DCT  should know and execute this procedure once a year
